INDIANAPOLIS – In its final tune-up prior to beginning Summit League play next weekend, the IUPUI men’s tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Wright State Sunday evening at West Indy Racquet Club.
With the loss, the Jaguars dropped to 2-13 on the season, while the Raiders improved to 9-6.
Wright State jumped out to the early one-point lead by sweeping all three doubles matches prior to the start of singles action.
In singles play, the Jags received victories at the top and bottom of the lineup, but the Raiders claimed four wins in the middle of the lineup to earn the win.
Jason Jaruvang claimed one of the singles wins for the Jaguars by overcoming a first-set loss to win 6-4, 7-5 in the last two sets to complete the come-from-behind win.
The other Jags singles triumph came at the sixth position with
Louis Sacks earning a straight-set win, 6-3, 6-2.
IUPUI kicks off Summit League action on Saturday, March 23, in Kansas City, Mo., when it meets South Dakota State. The Jags will then continue Summit League action on Sunday, March 24, against Kansas City.
