ABOUT INDIANA STATE
  • The Sycamores come into Monday's contest with a 3-3 record and they will be playing their first home game in nearly a month when the Jaguars enter the Hulman Center on Monday.
  • Anna Munn leads the team in scoring averaging 14.5 ppg, and she is one of three players scoring in double digits for ISU.
  • The Sycamores are averaging 63.3 ppg, while surrendering 65.0 ppg. They are also shooting 35.7 percent from the floor and 29.2 percent from three.
  • Opponents are shooting 43.5 percent against Indiana State, including 30.8 percent from three, while also outrebounding Indiana State 41.8 rpg to 36.5 rpg. Marina Laramie paces the Sycamores on the glass averaging 7.8 rpg.
  • The Sycamores have had success this season in winning the turnover battle. ISU averages just 16.2 to/g, compared to 21.2 to/g for its opponents.

THE SERIES WITH THE SYCAMORES
  • Monday's game against Indiana State will be the 11th meeting all-time between the two schools with Indiana State owning an 8-2 edge.
  • IUPUI won last year's meeting in Indianapolis, 71-67, snapping a seven-game losing streak in the series.
  • IUPUI is 0-6 all-time when playing at the Hulman Center.

LAST TIME OUT ...
  • Four players scored in double figures helping IUPUI snap a two-game skid with a 79-64 win over Western Michigan Wednesday evening (Dec. 4) at University Arena in Read Fieldhouse.
  • DeAirra Goss, who transferred to IUPUI from Western Michigan prior to the 2011-12 campaign, led the Jaguars with a game-high tying 19 points against her former team. Akilah Sims came off the bench to add a career-high 17 points, while Nevena Markovic and Dee-Dee Bellamy chipped in 15 points and 11 points, respectively.
  • The Jags, who committed 54 turnovers in their two losses last weekend at East Carolina and versus Cleveland State, turned the ball over just 12 times against the Broncos. By limiting their turnovers, the Jaguars managed to get up nine more shot attempts than WMU and made seven more field goals than the Broncos leading to the victory.
  • Both teams shot above 40 percent from the floor in the first half, but it was IUPUI's ability to connect from deep that proved to be the difference in the opening 20 minutes of play.
  • Three triples in the first 4:34, including two from Markovic, led an early scoring frenzy that allowed IUPUI to take a 14-9 lead. A Jessica Jessing lay-up with 11:10 to play brought the Broncos within a basket at 20-18, but a Markovic turnaround jumper and a three from Bellamy upped the IUPUI lead to 25-18 as the eight-minute mark neared.
  • Over the next five minutes, the IUPUI lead fluctuated between two and seven and remained at three, 35-32, with 3:46 to play, before the Jags made a run to close the half. Over the final three minutes, the Jaguars used three points from Sims and four points from Markovic during a 9-1 run to open a 44-33 cushion going into the half.
  • The Jags connected on six of its 10 tries from behind-the-arc in the first half compared to just 2-of-10 for Western Michigan.
  • Five missed shots and two turnovers in IUPUI's first eight possessions led to a 12-2 Western Michigan run in the first three-plus minutes of the second half resulting in its halftime lead quickly shrinking to one, 46-45.
  • Two baskets – one from Mikale Rogers and one from Sims – in a span of 11 seconds kickstarted a 12-3 IUPUI response from the 15:51 mark to the 13:29 mark that re-established a double-digit lead at 58-48.
  • It took nearly nine minutes until the Broncos could trim its lead below eight, and they had multiple opportunities to cut that deficit even further before IUPUI made one final run to put the game out of reach.
  • Coming out of the under-four-minute media timeout, baskets on three straight possessions, including two from Sims, moved the advantage to 13 points, 75-62, with 2:18 to play.
  • From that point, IUPUI finished off the 79-64 victory.

ON THE ROAD
  • IUPUI is 3-1 on the road this season winning games at Valparaiso, Chicago State and Western Michigan, while its only road loss came at East Carolina.
  • Despite allowing their opponents to shoot 44.0 percent from the floor, which is nearly four percent higher than what all opponents are shooting against the Jaguars this season, part of the reason for IUPUI's success on the road has been its ability share the ball and force turnovers while limiting its own.
  • IUPUI is averaging 16.3 assists per game and 15.3 turnovers per game in road contests this year, while its opponents are averaging 11.0 assists per game and 23.3 turnovers per game.
  • The Jags have three players scoring in double figures on the road in DeAirra Goss, Nevena Markovic and Akilah Sims.
  • While it is not a surprise that Goss and Markovic are two of the team's top three scorers on the road, as they are IUPUI's two leading scorers on the season, Sims offensive output has been a lift in road games.
  • In home games, Sims is averaging just 6.5 ppg, but that number has risen to 10.0 ppg away from The Jungle. She is also shooting 51.6 percent from the floor in road contests.

CLOSE GAMES
  • Through nine games this season, IUPUI is outscoring its opponents by an average of 12.1 ppg and they have only played in one game that has been decided by 10 points or less.
  • The Jags have won all six of their games by double figures, with their lowest margin of victory being 11 vs. Missouri State.
  • The Jags only game decided by 10 or less was against Cleveland State on Nov. 30, with the Vikings claiming an seven-point win in overtime.
  • Last season, the Jags played 16 games that were decided by 10 points or less and they went 10-6 in those games.
