MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Following a two-match homestand last weekend, the IUPUI men’s tennis team returns to the road this weekend when it travels to Milwaukee, Wis., to take on Marquette on Friday, Jan. 25, before heading to Green Bay, Wis., to square off against UW-Green Bay on Sunday, Jan. 27.

Friday’s match is set for 5 p.m. ET, while Sunday’s match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. ET.

“We are heading to Wisconsin this weekend to compete against two very familiar teams. We are coming off a disappointing weekend, but we look forward to the challenge ahead of us,” said head coach Brandon Currie. “As we move through the season, we are starting to figure out lineup combinations that will best suit our team. Several players have been out with injuries this season, but guys are getting back healthy and I feel we are on our way to meeting our potential. This weekend will definitely show us where we are as a team and we look forward to competing against two very prepared and well coached teams.”

The Jags are coming off a 0-2 weekend after dropping a tough match to SIU-Edwardsville, 4-3, before falling to Xavier, 7-0.

Against the Cougars, the Jags claimed the doubles point to jump out to the early one-point advantage, but dropped four of six singles matches giving SIU-Edwardsville the victory. Louis Sacks and Thomas Gans claimed the two singles victories for IUPUI.

Two days later, the Jags took on a talented Xavier squad and the Musketeers swept the Jags, 7-0.

Through four matches this season, Sacks has been the Jags top performer in singles play registering a 2-1 singles record.
