KANSAS CITY – The IUPUI men’s tennis team fell short of its goal of winning a Summit League title a season ago, which has served as motivation throughout the 2012 season. Beginning on Friday, April 27, the Jaguars will get another opportunity to win a conference title when it takes on IPFW in the Summit League quarterfinals at 3 p.m. ET at the Plaza Tennis Center.
IUPUI earned a share of the regular-season title with IPFW and UMKC with a 4-1 record, and its only loss came to the Mastodons in its conference finale in Fort Wayne, Ind., on April 13.
Due to the three-way tie and tiebreaker procedures, UMKC enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed, while IPFW and IUPUI are the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds, respectively. South Dakota State is the No. 4 seed.
The winner of the IUPUI/IPFW match will play the winner of the UMKC/South Dakota State match at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, April 28, for the conference tournament title and the opportunity to compete at the NCAA Championships.
Daily results will be available at IUPUIJags.com.
