TOLEDO, Ohio – The IUPUI men’s tennis team was back on the road Saturday and the Jaguars came up just short falling 4-3 to the Toledo Rockets.

The loss dropped the Jags to 4-9 on the season.

After Toledo took the early 1-0 lead by sweeping all three doubles matches, the Rockets used straight-set wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to close within one singles victory of the win.

Ivan Mojsejev continued his stellar play of late winning at No. 3 singles. Mojsejev began with a 6-3 win in the opening set, before winning a tightly contested second set, 7-6, which included a 7-5 win in the tiebreaker.

Armaan Choudhary also took home a straight-sets win at the No. 5 spot, closing the IUPUI deficit to 3-2.

However, Deon Shafer and Louis Sacks saw both of their matches go to a third set and while Sacks emerged victorious at the No. 6 spot, Shafer dropped a 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 decision securing the Toledo victory.

IUPUI concludes its busy weekend on Sunday, Feb. 26, when they travel to Anderson Township, Ohio, to take on Xavier at 10 a.m. ET.
