2/16/2012 5:08:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS – Coming off a weekend split against two tough opponents in Saint Louis and No. 30 Notre Dame, the IUPUI men’s tennis team begins a grueling two-day, four-match stretch this weekend in the Chicago area.

The Jags open their weekend on Friday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 ET against Wisconsin-Green Bay in Chicago, Ill., before traveling to Rockford, Ill., to take on Northern Illinois at 6 p.m. ET. On Saturday, Feb. 18, the Jaguars stay in Rockford to square off against Valparaiso at 10 a.m. ET, before returning to Chicago to meet Chicago State at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Last weekend, IUPUI put together an impressive performance at Saint Louis defeating the Billikens, 6-1. The Jags rallied to win the doubles point and proceeded to dominate singles play leading to the victory.

The Jags were slowed the following day at No. 30 Notre Dame, but still had some impressive showings in defeat.

After a season-opening loss to Western Michigan, Wisconsin-Green Bay has won four consecutive matches and will take on both IUPUI and Chicago State on Feb. 17.

Northern Illinois and Valparaiso both boast winning records to this point of the season with a 4-2 mark and 2-1 record, respectively, while Chicago State is 0-4 on the young season.
