SAN JOSE, Calif. - The IUPUI women's golf team shot an opening round 319 and are sixth of 11 teams playing at this week's Santa Clara Colby Invitational at Silver Creek Valley Golf Course.
UC-Riverside leads the field at 301 and Ball State is second at 303. Host Santa Clara (307), Cal Poly (313) and CSU-Northridge (318) round out the five teams ahead of the Jaguars.
Senior
Lauren Kuss led the Jaguars' lineup with a 4-over 76 and is tied for 12th among the 68-player field. Kuss had 10 pars on her scorecard and made an eagle on the par-5 No. 8.

Jordan Woods shot a 6-over 78 and sophomore
Yuri Otsuka carded an 8-over 80. Senior
Jordan Essman shot an 85 and redshirt freshman
Maria Krempp shot 87.
CSU-Northridge's Clariss Guce leads the field after carding a 2-under 70 and four others shot even par. Final round action is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday.
