INDIANAPOLIS -- Wrapping up their regular season, the IUPUI men's tennis team fell to Butler, 7-0, at the Indianapolis Tennis Center on Tuesday evening.  

IUPUI (6-17) took one match on the evening, as Nick Volz and Deon Shafer picked up a victory at No. 2 doubles, 8-6, over Butler's tandem of Stephen McLoughlin and Lenz Theodor.

However, the Bulldogs took wins at No. 1 and No. 3 to gain the early doubles point and set a tone for singles play.

Joel Modesitt was the lone Jaguar to push his singles match to three sets, as he won the first at No. 5, 6-4, before dropping the final two sets, 4-6, 5-7.

The match was a tune up for IUPUI, who will open The Summit League Tournament on Friday, April 23.  Seeded second in the tournament, the Jaguars will meet third-seeded and tournament host Oral Roberts at 12:00 p.m. ET from the Shadow Mountain Racquet Club in Tulsa, Okla.
