TULSA, Okla. -- Last year, it was the Oral Roberts women's basketball team that struggled to a No. 8 seed in The Summit League Tournament. This season, the Golden Eagles showed just how quickly the tide can turn in The Summit League, handing the IUPUI women's basketball team a 114-43 loss at the Mabee Center on Saturday night.

IUPUI (2-22, 1-12 Summit)set new school records for losses in a season, along with single-game records for margin of defeat (71), points allowed (114) and turnovers (47).

The turnover total set a Summit League conference record as well, breaking the previous mark of 45, set on Jan. 7, 1994, when Wisconsin-Milwaukee posted the record against UW-Green Bay.

It was the turnovers that led to the other records, as Oral Roberts (17-8, 11-3 Summit) turned the miscues into 57 points.

Appropriately, it was a turnover that started the game, as the Jaguars mishandled the ball on their first possession; the Golden Eagles would use a Jaci Bigham jumper to take a 2-0 lead and would build a 9-2 advantage before IUPUI took their first timeout of the game.

The 30-second break did little to stem ORU's momentum, as the Jaguars could only muster one field goal in the game's first 8:18; by the time Alyse Poindexter hit a layup off a feed from Farren Stackhouse, IUPUI trailed 21-4.

Still, the Golden Eagles continued to execute their game plan on both ends of the court - using their dribble-drive-motion offense to generate good looks on offense, while harassing IUPUI into turnovers with their extended 2-3 zone.

By the end of the first half, the Jaguars had committed 30 turnovers and the Golden Eagles took a 54-14 lead into the locker room.

While the Jags committed just 17 turnovers in the game's final 20 minutes, it was not enough to prevent Oral Roberts from scoring the most points allowed by IUPUI since moving to Division I.

Briannica Tye, making her return from injury, led the Jaguars with 12 points. Kevi Luper, the nation's second-leading scorer, posted 34 points to lead all players, while Savanna Buck and Jaci Bigham added 16 and 13, respectively.

"We just have to regroup and move on," IUPUI head coach Shann Hart said following the game. "We need to win our next two games to stay alive for the conference tournament, so we'll focus on Centenary."

The Jaguars will meet Centenary on Monday, Feb. 15. Tip-off from the Gold Dome is slated for 8 p.m. EST, with Scott Taylor on the call on IUPUIJags.com.
