INDIANAPOLIS -- Someone's multi-game losing streak will end on Saturday afternoon. The IUPUI women's basketball team will effort to make sure their eight-game skid is halted when they meet Western Illinois at The Jungle. Tip-off is slated for 4:30 p.m. and fans can watch the game live on IUPUIJags.com.
IUPUI (1-14, 0-4 Summit) brings an eight-game losing streak into the game, the longest, single-season losing streak in the program's history. The Jaguars dropped a 12-point contest at IPFW on Monday, as
Kerah Nelson led the way with 19 points.
Western Illinois (4-11, 0-4 Summit) enters Saturday's game with a five-game losing skid, dating back to Dec. 20. Aside from Summit League opponents, the Fighting Leathernecks have played two teams that IUPUI has faced this season - defeating Northern Illinois, 50-48, on Nov. 17, and falling at #6 Ohio State, 99-38, on Dec. 22.
The Leathernecks went 0-2 over their last road trip, losing at IPFW and Oakland by a combined 34 points.
The game is the first of three straight home contest for the Jaguars, culminating in a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day matchup against Oral Roberts at 2 p.m., in which the team will be signing post-game autographs.
Fans can watch the contest live on IUPUIJags.com; audio from Scott Taylor's call of the game will be streamed live as well, as will live stats.
