INDIANAPOLIS -- Mired in their third multi-game losing streak of the season and losers of four straight games to Oakland, the IUPUI women's basketball team will look to kill two birds with one stone on Monday night when they meet the Golden Grizzlies. Tip-off from The Jungle is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with Scott Taylor on the call of the game.
IUPUI (2-19, 1-9 Summit) mounted a furious rally on Saturday, but could not overcome a 22-point deficit in their 66-49 loss to IPFW. Still, there was cause for optimism in the Jaguars' locker room, as Ebony Davis chipped in a career-high 17 points on Saturday to lead IUPUI, while Kerah Nelson continued her strong Summit League play with 16 points.
Oakland (10-11, 7-3 Summit) enters Monday's game looking to win their fifth straight game over IUPUI and their third consecutive Summit League game. The Golden Grizzlies won at Western Illinois, 52-36, on Saturday.
The teams met in their first game of the new decade on Jan. 2, 2010, with Oakland forcing 34 IUPUI turnovers en route to a 75-40 win at the O'Rena in Rochester, Mich.. Nelson led the Jaguars with 15 points, while Briannica Tye came off the bench to post 11.
