INDIANAPOLIS - On the heels of a 90-87 overtime win over Oral Roberts on Thursday, the IUPUI basketball team looks for its third straight Summit League triumph when Centenary comes to town on Saturday for a 2:00 p.m. tip. Scott McCauley (play-by-play) and IUPUI Hall of Famer Jared Lux (analyst) will call the action, beginning at approximately 1:50.
Fans wearing Colts gear will be admitted for free while two pair of Colts lower level playoff tickets will be given out during the day's doubleheader. Those in attendance will be allowed to sign up for a drawing before entering the facility and two tickets will be given out at halftime of each game.
IUPUI (12-7, 5-1 Summit) got 25 points from senior
Robert Glenn on Thursday and
Jon Avery tied a school record by going 10-for-10 from the floor on his way to a season-high 20 points off the bench. The 6-foot-7 forward tied the record set by
George Hill against UMKC in 2006. As a team, IUPUI shot better than 60 percent from the floor to help offset 21 turnovers.
ORU freshman Warren Niles scored a career-high 39 points but was the only Golden Eagle to shoot better than 50 percent from the floor. The guests also hit 34-of-38 from the foul line, both season-highs against the Jags. The win was Head Coach
Ron Hunter's 100th career Summit League win, becoming just the fourth in league history to achieve the plateau.
IUPUI is 9-3 all-time against Centenary with the two teams splitting the home-and-home series a year ago.
