ELMHURST, Ill. - The Summit League has announced that IUPUI junior men’s tennis player Gregory Sosa has been named the conference’s Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week. 

It is the first time in this season and third time in Sosa’s career he has received the honor.

Sosa went 1-0 in singles play last week, picking up the Jaguars’ lone point in 6-1 defeat at Morehead State last Saturday, March 7.

Playing at No. 2 singles for the first time this season, Sosa defeated Dusan Milovanovic, 6-3, 7-6 (6).  The win was Sosa’ second of the spring season.

In doubles, Sosa paired with Jesus Diaz to defeat the Morehead State duo of Shafik/Hodge, 8-3, at No.3.

The Jaguars will take to the road for their next match, venturing to Dayton, Ohio, to take on the University of Dayton on Friday, March 13.  The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. ET.
