INDIANAPOLIS -- Playing host to a nationally ranked opponent for the second straight season, the IUPUI women's basketball team will look for the program's first win against a top 25 team when they host #20/24 South Dakota State Monday night at The Jungle.  Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, with Greg Rakestraw and WISH-TV sports anchor Jeane Coakley calling the action on XL 950-AM.

IUPUI (12-11, 7-5 Summit) enters the game playing some of its best basketball of the season, winning its last two games by a total of 55 points.  In both contests, the Jaguars have limited themselves to just 9 turnovers while forcing 31 combined miscues.

In the Jaguars' 63-41 win over North Dakota State on Saturday, the Jags held the Bison to 17 points in the first half, essentially sealing the game with a 21-5 run to close the half.  Julia Whitted starred in the post, finishing with a game-high 18 points to go along with 9 rebounds.

Brykeesha Tate controlled the tempo while handing out a season-high 8 assists on Saturday.  More importantly, Tate did not have a single turnover; in her last three games, Tate holds a 15:3 assist-turnover ratio.

South Dakota State (22-2, 11-1 Summit) leads The Summit League standings by one game over Oakland and four over IUPUI and North Dakota State.  The Jackrabbits boast the three-time Summit League Player of the Week, Jennifer Warkenthien, in the post.  Warkenthien, a 6-foot forward, is averaging 15.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game to lead the Jacks.

The two teams have met once this season - on Jan. 10, 2009, South Dakota State rolled to a 96-49 win over IUPUI at Frost Arena in Brookings, S.D..  The Jackrabbits knocked down 11 three-pointers in the game, while the Jaguars did not knock down a triple in five attempts.  Four Jacks finished with more than 10 points, led by Jill Young, who had 17.

For the year, SDSU is averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game, the 11th-best mark in the NCAA.

Last season, IUPUI hosted #17 Notre Dame, fighting the Irish tooth-and-nail for a half before falling, 67-44.  In the 2001-02 season, the Jaguars took on #25 Florida State in The Jungle, losing 85-75.  All time, IUPUI is 0-7 against ranked opponents, with four of those matchups coming in the last two years.

Fans can follow the game via IUPUI Live!, while Rakestraw and Coakley will have the call on XL 950-AM.  Their call of the contest will be streamed live via the above link as well.
