VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Leading by two matches with three to play, the IUPUI men's tennis team seemed on their way to their first win of the spring season.  However, Valparaiso took the final three matches to swipe a 4-3 win over the Jaguars at the Courts of Northwest Indiana.

IUPUI (1-7) picked up the early doubles point when Jorge Yunes and #E.J. Dechow# broke a 1-1 tie with an 8-6 win at No. 3 doubles.  Previously, Gregory Sosa and Taylor Tunis won the opening doubles match, 8-2, to put the Jaguars in position to take the point.

Though Dechow lost his singles match, 0-6, 3-6, Sosa won at No. 1, 4-6, 7-5, 6-4, while Daniel Klingenberg rallied for a 7-5, 3-6, 7-5 victory over Tom Litscher at No. 2 singles, putting IUPUI ahead, 3-1 with three matches to play.

However, the Jags could not hold onto matches at No. 5 or No. 6 singles, as Tunis fell, 7-5, 2-6, 3-6, while Yunes lost, 6-7 (6), 6-7 (1).

The Jaguars will return to the Indianapolis Tennis Center, where they will host Northern Illinois on Saturday, Feb. 21.  The matches will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET.
