INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI softball team recently spread some holiday cheer to less fortunate children by providing over 30 wrapped gifts to the Christamore House, located in downtown Indianapolis. This is the second year Head Coach
Maggie Calcaterra's team has assisted the Christamore House.
Former IUPUI softball player Jenny Boyts is the Director of Family Services at the Christamore House.
"IUPUI's always been a helpful partner," Boyts said, when speaking of the campus-wide connection between the two entities. "Most of the demographic we see are single parents, so really, that's quite a big help. We've seen a greater need this year than in any other year.
"This hasn't been the longest partnership we've had, but it's definitely had the most impact on a lot of our families."
The entire campus contributed gifts assisting the Christamore House as part of the Season of Giving, established by the Office of External Affairs. In all 27 families, totaling over 100 individuals received gifts this winter.
