KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Winners of three of their last four contests, the IUPUI women's basketball team will look to put some distance between themselves and UMKC when the teams meet on Saturday afternoon.  Tip-off from Kemper Arena is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. CST, and fans can follow the game via IUPUI Live!

IUPUI (10-10, 5-4 Summit) is in the midst of a four-game road trip, having gone 1-1 last weekend at IPFW and Oakland.  The Jaguars blitzed the Mastodons with seven three-pointers on the way to a 70-61 victory on Saturday before succumbing, 71-53, to the Grizzlies on Monday.

At Oakland, Julia Whitted matched her career high with 27 points on 11-for-18 shooting, but the rest of the Jaguars shot a combined 25.7-percent from the field in the loss.

UMKC (9-11, 4-5 Summit) sits one game behind the Jaguars for fourth place in The Summit League, having alternated wins and losses over their last eight contests.  IUPUI fell to the Kangaroos, 80-75, in overtime, on Jan. 5.

In the game, Whitted and Jernisha Cann each posted double-doubles for the Jaguars, but UMKC placed four players into double figures to capture the win.  A LeAndrea Thomas three-pointer as time expired in regulation forced overtime, and the Kangaroos outscored the Jags, 15-10, in the extra session.

Cann continues to lead IUPUI in scoring and rebounding, tallying 15.3 points and 11.0 rebounds per contest.  The senior is the only player in the country to be ranked in the top 10 in both rebounds and steals (3.9) per game.

For UMKC, Chazny Morris continues to be one the country's elite offensive players, averaging 18.6 points per game to rank 28th in the NCAA.  IUPUI held Morris without a point for the first half of their previous meeting, but the junior posted 18 of her 21 points in the second half to help the Kangaroos force overtime.
