CHICAGO -- Embarking on their first road trip of the 2009 spring tennis season, the IUPUI men's tennis team was swept at Illinois-Chicago on Friday evening before losing, 7-0, at Northwestern on Saturday.

On Friday, IUPUI (0-3) fell, 7-0, to the Flames of Illinois-Chicago at the Hinsdale Racquet Club in Hinsdale, Ill..  In doubles play, UIC swept the Jaguars, but not before the freshman tandem of Daniel Kilingenberg and Bren Vasalakis pushed the No. 1 duo of Bastian Harbo and George Hudson to a tie-break, eventually falling.

In singles, Gregory Sosa fell 7-6, 7-5, coming the closest to taking a set.

After just a 15-hour layoff, the Jaguars faced off against Big Ten member Northwestern at the Cambe Tennis Center in Evanston, Ill..  The Wildcats took all nine matches from the Jaguars, who did not pick up a set in the defeat.

The Jaguars road swing will continue next weekend, when IUPUI will head west to Peoria, Ill., to face Bradley University.  The matches will begin at 1:00 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 31.
