EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Battling nationally ranked Michigan State, the IUPUI men's tennis team put forth a solid effort before falling, 6-1, to the No. 64-ranked Spartans Friday night at the Michigan State Indoor Tennis Facility.
Gregory Sosa, playing at No. 2 singles for the second consecutive match, won again, taking down Michigan State's Scott Rasmussen, 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (6).
IUPUI (0-4) went to a super tie-break in one other match, with
Gabriel Garcia narrowly falling at No. 1, 3-6, 6-3, 0-1 (6).
Michigan State (7-2) swept the Jaguars in doubles to claim that point before winning the first four singles matches to clinch the victory.
IUPUI will return to the Indianapolis Tennis Center on Sunday, February 3, when they play host to the University of Indianapolis. That match will begin at 6 p.m.
