TULSA, Okla. -- The IUPUI volleyball team was never able to find its offensive rhythm in their Summit League Tournament semifinal match, falling to No. 1 seed North Dakota State, 3-0, Friday night at the Cooper Aerobics Center.  The Jaguars fell, 16-25, 21-25, 18-25.

IUPUI (16-15, 9-7 Summit) tallied 66 digs in the match, but hit just .102 for the match; conversely, North Dakota State (23-3, 16-0 Summit) hit .252 and picked up 45 kills.  Nicole Jenkins led the Jaguars with 15 kills, while Shari Bernhardt had 17 digs.

Summit League First Team setter Danielle Goodnight picked up a match-high 31 assists.  Goodnight finished the year with 1,194 assists, the eighth-best total in school history.

Senior libero Chelsea Bastin had 15 digs, ending her career with 542 digs and 1,395 in her career.  The 542 digs were the fourth-most in a single season at IUPUI, while her career total is the second-most in school history.

North Dakota State jumped on the Jaguars right from the beginning of the match, racing out to a 6-0 lead and causing Steve Payne to burn a quick timeout.  Still, the Jags worked their way back into the set, using three Jenkins kills to close within 9-5 and force a Bison timeout.

However, NDSU pushed their lead back to seven at 16-9 with a 3-0 run, causing IUPUI's second timeout of the set.  The Jaguars closed within six points on three different occasions, but came no closer, as the Bison won, 25-16.

Despite being down early, the Jaguars battled back in the second set, taking a 12-11 lead on a block by Jenkins and Monica Suding.  However, the Bison answered with a 5-2 run to open a 16-14 advantage.  IUPUI was able to tie the set on three occasions, twice on kills by Kalyse Reimbold and on a Bison service error.

With the set tied at 19, the Bison took the next two points to cause an IUPUI timeout.  Trailing, 20-23, a Suding kill brought IUPUI within two, but NDSU took a timeout to squash any momentum the Jaguars had gained.  Two points later, North Dakota State had taken the set, 25-21, and opened up a 2-0 set advantage.

Needing a win to stay alive in the match, the Jaguars ran out of gas midway through the set, falling 25-18.  Early on, IUPUI traded points with North Dakota State, but the Bison went on a 3-1 run to open a 13-10 lead and cause an early Jaguar timeout.

North Dakota State maintained their momentum, scoring five of the next six points to pull ahead, 18-11.  A final IUPUI timeout could not help the Jags salvage the set, as they traded points with the Bison over the last third of the set.

The Jaguars finish the year 16-15, their most wins since the 2003 campaign.  The Jaguars will return all six starters from their 2008 squad, losing Bastin from the back row.
