KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The IUPUI women's basketball team will look to end a two-game conference losing streak when they take on the UMKC Kangaroos Monday night.  Tip-off from the Swinney Recreation Center is scheduled for 7 p.m. CST (8 p.m. EST) and can be followed online via SummitTV.

IUPUI (4-10, 0-2 Summit) dropped a 61-56 heartbreaker at Southern Utah on Saturday night, failing to capitalize on several late-game opportunities to take the lead.  Julia Whitted had a career high 14 rebounds in the loss, including 10 on the offensive glass.  The sophomore posted her third double-double of the season with 12 points and 14 boards.

Jernisha Cann will be returning to her hometown in tonight's game; last season, Cann had 21 points and 10 rebounds in Kansas City.  For the year, Cann is averaging 12.6 points and 9.5 rebounds.

UMKC (7-7, 0-3 Summit) fell, 68-54, to Western Illinois on Saturday.  The Kangaroos are led by Chazny Morris, who is averaging 17.4 points per game, and Summit League Preseason First Team selection Alysa Klein, who 13.2 points and 6.1 rebounds.  Klein is also one of the league's most prolific shot blockers, swatting 1.7 shots per game.

The Jaguars are 10-8 all time versus UMKC, going 4-5 in Kansas City.  Last season, UMKC swept the season series from IUPUI, winning 50-42 in The Jungle, and taking a 66-63 overtime win at Kemper Arena.

UMKC will have live stats on tonight's game and the contest will be streamed online via SummitTV.

IUPUI will return to the friendly confines of The Jungle on Saturday, Jan. 12, when they open a doubleheader against South Dakota State at 4:30 p.m.
