INDIANAPOLIS -- Returning to the friendly confines of The Jungle off a 1-1 road trip, the IUPUI women's basketball team will host one of The Summit League's newest members when South Dakota State arrives for a 4:30 tipoff Saturday afternoon.

IUPUI (5-10, 1-2 Summit) rebounded from a difficult defeat at the hands of Southern Utah to pick up their first Summit win over UMKC, 56-51, on Monday.  Nicole James posted a career-high 18 points in the win, giving the Jaguars the outside shot that they have lacked to this point in the season.

Using a stingy defense and opportune shooting, the Jags rallied from a nine-point deficit midway through the second half to take the win.

As they have most of the season, IUPUI will look to Jernisha Cann and Julia Whitted to shoulder the load on both ends of the court.  Cann leads the Jaguars with 12.2 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.  The Naismith Trophy candidate is second in The Summit in both rebounding and steals.

Whitted averaged a double-double last weekend, averaging 11.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.  The Staunton, Ind.-native corralled a career-high 14 rebounds in Cedar City, Utah - 10 on the offensive glass.  For the season, Whitted is averaging 11.7 points and 7.0 boards.

South Dakota State (10-5, 3-1 Summit) has been just as good as advertised in the early goings of conference play.  The Jackrabbits, who reached the quarterfinals of the Postseason WNIT in 2006-07, have won their last three conference games, including a sweep of IPFW and Oakland last weekend.

The Jackrabbits are led by guard Andrea Verdegan, who is averaging 10.0 points and 3.5 assists per game.  SDSU has five players averaging double figures, creating a strong balance on the court.

IUPUI will wrap up the weekend when they host North Dakota State at 7 p.m. on Monday evening.
