Junior women's basketball forward Kerah Nelson has been named the Sahm's Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of December. The St. Petersburg, Fla., native, led the Jaguars in scoring for the month averaging 16.6 ppg, while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and grabbing 5.1 rpg.
After scoring a combined 17 points in the first two games of the month, Nelson erupted for 25 points against Indiana. In that game, Nelson became the first Jaguar in more than seven years to go perfect from the free throw line attempting a minimum of 10 shots. Nelson went 12-of-12 from the line against the Hoosiers.
She followed that with back-to-back 18-point, nine-rebound efforts vs. Eastern Illinois and at Butler, before scoring a season-high 27 points against Marygrove College on Dec. 28.
