IUPUI senior men's golfer Rylan Porter has been named the department's Male Athlete of the Month for August 2015. Porter, coming off a Second Team All-Summit League effort his junior year, opened his final season in fine fashion at the Notre Dame Kickoff Challenge.

Porter notched a fifth-place finish at the season-opening event in South Bend, carding a 36-hole 1-under 141 (68-73) at Notre Dame's Warren Golf Course.

With Porter leading the way, the Jaguars tied for second overall at the event, shooting a 36-hole 579 (286-293).
