INDIANAPOLIS – The Jags swept this week's #HLSD awards after earning wins over Cleveland State and Youngstown State. Yassin Abdelghany and Victoria Surdyka took the Horizon League Swimmer of the Week awards while Kirby Danglade, in his first collegiate meet, and Lindi Jenkins earned Diver of the Week.
 
MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Yassin Abdelghany / IU Indy / Sr. / Alexandria, Egypt

• Led IU Indy to a win over Cleveland State and Youngstown State with two individual wins and two relay wins
• Took first in the 50 free with a time of 19.39
• Earned first in the 100 fly with a time of 47.05
• Helped earn first in the 200 medley relay (1:27.93) and the 200 free relay (1:19.55)

 
WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Victoria Surdyka / IU Indy / Sr. / Buffalo Grove, Ill.

• Led the women's team to a sweep over Cleveland State and Youngstown State
• Took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:08.07
• Picked up another win in the 100 breast with a time of 1:03.76
• Led the Jags to a 200 medley relay win (1:42.59) and 200 free relay (1:35.02)

 
MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Kirby Danglade / IU Indy / Fr. / Fishers, Ind

• Led the Jags on the diving boards in their win over Cleveland State and Youngstown State
• Took the top score in the 1-meter with a score of 264.00
• Earned second in the 1-meter with a score of 265.40

 
WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Lindi Jenkins/ IU Indy / So. / Ann Arbor, Mich.

• Led the women's team on the diving boards this past weekend
• Took second in the 3-meter with a score of 227.65
• Earned third in the 1-meter with a score of 213.75

 
The Jags will next be in action on October 3 when they host the IU Indy Invite. IU Indy will host Xavier, Bellarmine, Eastern Illinois, Bowling Green and Butler in the IU Indy Natatorium starting at 12:00 PM.
