BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team was brilliant on Saturday (Sept. 12) as the Jaguars opened play at the Bryan National Collegiate at Bryan Park Golf Club with rounds of 286 and 287. The Jaguars closed 36 holes of the 54-hole event at 3-under 573 and are third among the 13-team field going into the Sunday finale. The tournament will conclude with an 8:00 a.m. start on Sunday. 

Host UNCG leads the way at 557 while William & Mary is second at 571. IU Indy (573) is trailed closely by Radford (574) and Davidson (577) going into the final round. 

Senior Brady Schier is tied for third among the 84-player field at 5-under 139, fueled by his opening round 5-under 67. He followed with an even par 72 in Saturday's second round. Behind him, Keaton Parmley is tied for 12th at 2-under 142 (72-70) and sophomore Jack Scudder is tied for 17th at 1-under 143 (72-71). Senior Titus Boswell ended his day at 6-over 150 (76-74) and rookie Tommy Klinker made his collegiate debut with rounds of 75 and 78. 

Fellow freshman Nathan Springer also made his collegiate debut as an individual, finishing the day with rounds of 77 and 83. 

Schier had just one bogey in round one while making six birdies, including on his first two holes of the season. Parmley had five birdies and Scudder and Klinker made three apiece.

Parmley opened round two with an eagle as part of his team-best 2-under 70 and Scudder had five birdies and an eagle as part of his 1-under 71. Schier was rock solid with 16 pars accompanying a singular bogey and birdie. Boswell was countable at 2-over, including three birdies. 

Scudder and Parmley had a team-high eight birdies apiece while Schier made a team-high 27 pars, tying for third among the field. The Jaguars were second overall with 33 birdies on the tournament's first day.
