MEN'S GOLF TO COMPETE AT THE SCRAPPY AT PINETREE

Jaguars slated for 54 holes over Monday (Oct. 12) and Tuesday (Oct. 13)

KENNESAW, Ga. - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team will participate in The Scrappy at Pinetree, hosted by Kennesaw State at Pinetree Country Club on Monday (Oct. 12) and Tuesday (Oct. 13). The Jaguars are slated for 54 holes over the two days and will compete against a tough 13-team field. 

IU Indy comes in with a team scoring average of 290.44, paced by senior Titus Boswell and junior Keaton Parmley at 72.11 each. Both have a top-10 finish to their credit this fall while Parmley has a team-high five rounds of par or better. Boswell and Brady Schier each have three rounds of par or better this fall. 

Schier is third on the team with a 73.0 stroke average and they'll be joined in the lineup this week by freshmen Tommy Klinker and Nathan Springer. Springer has a 75.78 stroke average and Klinker has a 75.44 mark. Both Klinker and Schier have each made holes-in-one in competition this fall. 

Boswell enters play with 97 career rounds and will become the 12th player in program history to surpass 100 career rounds by tournament's end. 

THE COURSE
Originally designed by architect Chick Adams and opened in 1962, Pinetree is regarded as one of Georgia's top private golf courses. It was later revised by Bill Bergin and the par-72 layout wins through rolling hills and is surrounded by towering Georgia pines. 

THE FIELD
The 13-team field includes Alabama, Alabama A&M, Augusta, Belmont, Florida A&M, Georgia State, IU Indy, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Missouri State, Providence, Samford and UT Martin.

QUOTABLE
"I had a really nice week on and around the greens. I made some really important putts when I had to and got up and down plenty of times to save some shots. I would love to get some momentum with the ball striking this next week because I know I'm really close to breaking through and winning one of these," Boswell said following the Tom Tontimonia Invitational on Oct. 6.

LAST TIME OUT
IU Indy finished tied for sixth among the 12-team field at Cleveland State's Tom Tontimonia Invitational, shooting 879 (295-283-301) for the tournament. Boswell earned a top-10 finish at 3-over 216 (75-68-73). Schier was next in line at 6-over 219 (74-70-75). 

UP NEXT
IU Indy will participate in the Xavier Invitational in Cincinnati on Oct. 19-20.
