SHARON, Pa. - The IU Indianapolis women's golf team will open the 2026-27 campaign on Monday (Aug. 31) at the YSU Roseann Schwartz Invitational at the Avalon at Buhl Golf Course. The tournament is a single day of 36 holes on Monday at  the par-70, 5,901-yard course. 

Head coach Jamie Broce returns the bulk of last year's roster and added a standout rookie in Janelle Garcia. The Jaguars graduated reigning Horizon League champion Yanah Rolston, but return the reigning Horizon League Freshman of the Year in Li (Sherry) Xia. Xia registered a team-best 77.93 stroke average last season with a pair of top-10 finishes. 

Behind her, classmate Olivia Aronhalt was third on the team with an 80.73 scoring average and junior Cassidy Ayres posted an 81.13 mark after missing the fall due to injury. 

THE COURSE
Avalon at Buhl Park is set to par 70 and 5,901 yards this week. The Pete Dye design is picturesque with an array of water and large, undulating greens throughout. 

THE FIELD
The 10-team field consists of Akron, Bowling Green, Chicago State, Dayton, Eastern Illinois, IU Indianapolis, Le Moyne, Maryland Eastern Shore, Mercyhurst, Ohio State and host Youngstown State.
