INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis women's golf program has announced the addition of local product
Janelle Garcia (Fishers, Ind. / Hamilton Southeastern) to join the Jaguars ahead of the 2026-2027 season. Garcia enjoyed a standout career at Hamilton Southeastern and on the Golfweek Junior Tour.
"Janelle has played a lot of really good golf for a really long time. She's a really talented, poised player," head coach
Jamie Broce said. "She's going to come in and compete right away and make our lineup better. Her personality fits in really well with the other young ladies on the team, so we're excited to have her on board."
This summer, Garcia earned a third-place finish at the Indiana PGA Women's Open at Battle Ground Golf Club with a 54-hole 217 (74-70-73), placing second among the amateurs in the field. Last summer, she earned wins on the Golfweek Junior Tour at Dayton Country Club and Purgatory Golf Club, carding 1-under 143 (71-72) at Purgatory. She also earned a runner-up finish at the Pfau Course at IU, highlighting a collection of top-five finishes.
She was a four-year letterwinner at HSE and two-time All-State honoree. She was Hoosier Conference and sectional medalist her senior year after earning sectional runner-up honors as a junior. She was regional medalist her sophomore season and runner-up as a junior.
She was the 2023 Junior Tour Player of the Year and was Girls State Junior Championship runner-up that season. In addition, she's a two-time IGF Age Group Champion.
