INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis Athletics Department announced a historic partnership renewal with Lewis and Wilkins LLP today (March 16) that is the first major sponsorship deal inked for the James T. Morris Arena. The on-campus arena, which seats 4,500, is the home for basketball and volleyball. The Indianapolis-based law firm remains an official name sponsor of Jaguar Athletics, through 2028.
The multi-year sponsorship agreement was secured by Director of Athletics
Luke Bosso.
The sponsorship includes the law firm's name and logo will be exclusively featured on the state-of-the-art safety padding on all sides of the basketball goals at both ends of the court in James T. Morris Arena, and it will be a visible part of the exciting D1 basketball gameday experience.
Also, as part of the agreement, Lewis And Wilkins (also called LAW) remains the 'presenting sponsor' of the men's and women's basketball coaches' postgame media availability in the James T. Morris Arena and will continue to have its name and logo displayed on the arena's publicity back-drop, alongside the Athletics Department logo.
In addition to those facility-related items, LAW will also have increased visibility on static and LED boards, social and digital platforms and games broadcast on ESPN+ at venue, affectionately referred to as "The Jim" on campus.
"The gameday experience for Jaguar fans is a high priority for our department. We are excited to team with a great sponsor with a proven track record of working with other schools and professional teams," Director Bosso said.
"At Lewis And Wilkins, our civil litigators are courtroom advocates for safety. In 2025, from all law firms in Indiana, we tied for first for the most civil jury trials reported. We wanted to celebrate our firm's milestone with a renewed multi-year commitment to IU Indy Athletics. Beyond the electric gameday atmosphere for fans, this department fosters an environment for student-athletes that promotes winning, academics and safety – and we share those values," said Paul Mullin, managing partner of the law firm that has offices in Indianapolis, Fishers, and Washington, D.C.
'"The Jim" offers sponsorship opportunities to showcase corporate branding or team support, but the Lewis And Wilkins deal is more than marketing, it's a demonstration of the law firm's commitment to student-athlete safety in the crown jewel of our athletic facilities,' said Director Bosso. 'I like their package because it's an easy visual to show potential sponsors that we can tailor a perfect, or unique, branding fit for their business goals in our new arena.'
