MEN'S GOLF SLATED FOR SAVANNAH INTERCOLLEGIATE

Teams slated for 54 holes over two days

SAVANNAH, Ga. - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team will open its spring schedule this weekend when the Jaguars participate in the Savannah Intercollegiate at the Club at Savannah Harbor, beginning on Saturday (Feb. 21). The Jaguars will play 36 holes on Saturday before playing a final round on Sunday (Feb. 22). 

The Jags enter the spring with a 294.8 team scoring average, paced by junior Titus Boswell at 70.78 in 18 rounds. Boswell finished among the top-10 in five of the six fall tournaments, carding par or better in 11 of his 18 rounds played. Behind him, classmate Brady Schier checks in at 74.71 with two rounds of par or better and redshirt freshman Keaton Parmley sits at 75.17. Other regulars in the lineup include senior Noah Kirsch (75.39) and true freshman Jack Scudder (75.83). 

QUOTABLE
"We have a great group of guys who have been working incredibly hard all winter long. I know they're excited to get out there and compete and push one another. It's going to be a fun spring season for us," head coach Jamie Broce said.

THE COURSE
Savannah Harbor will play par 72 and 7,131 yards this week. The course is home to The PGA Tour's Champions Tour, Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf Championship and sits in the Georgia Low Country. It was named among Golfweek's "Best Courses You Can Play in Georgia" in 2020. 

THE FIELD
The 18-team field consists of host Bowling Green, Bradley, Colgate, Columbia, Creighton, Dartmouth, Fairfield, IU Indy, Iona, Lehigh, Longwood, Morehead State, Purdue Fort Wayne, Queens-Charlotte, Sacred Heart, Villanova, West Georgia and Youngstown State.

LAST TIME OUT
The Jaguars closed the fall slate finishing fifth of 12 teams at the Xavier Invitational with a 54-hole 889 (297-297-295). Boswell earned a third-place finish at that tournament with an even par 210 (71-70-69). 

UP NEXT
The Jags will participate in the South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational in Boulder City, Nev., on Mar. 9-10.
