MEN'S GOLF TREKS TO MUNCIE FOR EARL YESTINGSMEIER INVITATIONAL

Teams to play 54 holes over Saturday (Sept. 20) and Sunday (Sept. 21)

MUNCIE, Ind. - The IU Indianapolis men's golf team will return to action this weekend when the Jaguars compete in the 13-team, two-day, 54-hole Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club. Teams will play 36 holes on Saturday (Sept. 20), followed by a final 18 on Sunday (Sept. 21). IU Indy is among six Horizon League teams competing in this weekend's event. 

The Jaguars put up a solid showing at the recent Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate with a 54-hole 895, paced by junior Titus Boswell's 1-over 214 (70-72-72). Redshirt freshman Keaton Parmley finished at 224 (76-75-73) and Brady Schier finished at 229 (80-76-73). Jack Scudder (231) and Noah Kirsch (235) rounded out the lineup. 

This weekend, senior Preston Broce will re-enter the lineup in the No. 5 spot while Scudder will compete as an individual. 

QUOTABLE
"It was a really solid day out there. I was able to take advantage of some great opportunities that I gave myself. This golf course demands a lot of high quality shots and I was able to hit some nice ones today. I'm not far behind the leaders, so I'm hoping to get off to a hot start and put some pressure on them," Boswell said after day one of the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate. 

THE COURSE
Delaware Country Club is known as East Central Indiana's oldest and finest private course. The course features rolling land, gentle streams, woods and elevation changes and is set to play par 70 and 6,438 yards this weekend. 

THE FIELD
The 13-team field consists of Ball State, Belmont, Butler, Central Michigan, Cleveland State, Dayton, Evansville, IU Indy, Northern Kentucky, Purdue Fort Wayne, Robert Morris, Southern Indiana and Wright State.

LAST TIME OUT
IU Indy finished ninth of 12 teams with 895 (300-299-296) at the Golden Grizzlies Intercollegiate, capped by a final round 296. Boswell earned a top-10 finish at 1-over 214 (70-72-72), placing seventh of 72 players. 

UP NEXT
The Jags will participate in the Tom Tontimonia Invitational in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 6-7.
