TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The IU Indianapolis women's track and field squad wrapped up competition at Indiana State's Gibson Invitational on Saturday (Apr. 19) with five Jaguars setting new personal bests despite wet and rainy conditions.

Saturday capped a busy week for the Jaguars as others competed at the Wake Forest Invitational earlier in the week and both Morgan Hoard and Paige Laffoon had participated in the heptathlon at the Gibson Invite the two days prior.

On Saturday, Hannah Robbins paced three entries in the 1,500m event with a personal best time of 4:47.99 while Ella Colclesser ran 4:57.16. Freshman Mary Fritch tucked in just behind Colclesser with a personal best time of 4:57.28.

In the 100m hurdles, Journey Howard ran a personal best time of 15.14 seconds and freshman Pa'Shence Purnell ran 15.60 seconds. Shelby McGee clocked a time of 16.54 seconds.

In the 800m event, freshman Julianna Crow ran a time of 2:24.50 while Julynne Spidell had a personal best effort of 2:46.94. The other IU Indy personal best came in the shot put as Skyler Sichting had a best throw of 8.59m (28' 2.25'') on a day in which she also ran the 100m dash, clocking a time of 13.63 seconds. McGee just missed a personal best in the javelin throw with a best effort of 32.26m (105-10) and freshman Jade Wiese was the team's lone entrant in the long jump, posting a best mark of 4.89m (16' 0.5'').

Freshman Jahzara McAlister was the team's lone entry in the 200m and 400m events, clocking times of 26.20 and 59.46, respectively.

Purnell led the entries in the 400m hurdles at 1:08.24 and Jada-Marie Davis ran a time of 1:08.63. Howard spun a time of 1:09.67.

The Jaguars will return to action next weekend when they participate in the University of Louisville's Clark Wood Invitational.
