INDIANAPOLIS- The IU Indy men's soccer team will conclude its regular season in Rochester, Michigan, as they take on the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland on Nov. 2 at 2:00 PM. The match will be live-streamed on ESPN+.
This past Friday, the Jags fell short against the number one-ranked team in the Horizon League, losing 2-1 to Cleveland State. The Jaguars came out strong, scoring the opening goal within the first 15 minutes as junior
Noah Kummrow found the back of the net for his first goal of the year. He was assisted by senior
Youri Keijser and sophomore
Bali Esquivel.
IU Indy held a 1-0 lead going into halftime, but Cleveland State quickly responded in the 46th minute with a goal from
Uzman Ramees. The Vikings then secured the game-winner in the final 40 seconds, scored by
Daniel Celso.
Statistically, the game was evenly matched. The Jaguars trailed only slightly in total shots (10-9) and were even in shots on goal (4-4). Junior
Jose Antonio Herrera led IU Indy in both total shots (4) and shots on goal (2). Senior goalkeeper
Cameron Maung-Maung recorded two saves for the Jags.
Through 16 games, two Jaguars share the team lead in points:
Stan Klaver and
Keijser, each with eight. Keijser is tied for the team lead in assists with Esquivel, both with four, and has also scored two goals. Klaver leads the team in goals with four. In the Horizon League, Herrera ranks fifth in total shots (39) and fourth in shots on goal (17), while
Abdi Isom is ranked tenth with 12 shots on goal. Keijser and Esquivel sit fifth and sixth in assists, respectively, and Klaver ranks ninth in goals (4).
Five Jaguars have logged over 1,100 minutes this season: junior
Jago Thompson-Roberts (1,150), Maung-Maung (1,191), Esquivel (1,294), senior
Brady Horn (1,365), and Herrera, who leads the team with 1,366 minutes played.
SCOUTING OAKLAND
The Golden Grizzlies are 3-7-6 overall and 3-2-3 in Horizon League play. Oakland endured a challenging start to the season, facing three ranked opponents — #3 Ohio State, #12 Dayton, and #25 Michigan — losing two of those matches and tying the other. They currently sit fifth in the Horizon League standings.
Through 16 games, senior Tim Allos leads Oakland in both points (12) and goals (6). Junior Andriy Bilous follows with 10 points, recording three goals and a team-leading four assists. Sophomore Cole Thompson has been the primary goalkeeper this season, posting 40 saves and a .755 save percentage.
In Horizon League rankings, Bilous is tenth in both total shots (29) and assists (4), while Allos ranks third in goals (6), fourth in game-winning goals (2), and fourth in points (12).

The Jaguars are 8-18-2 all-time against the Golden Grizzlies. The teams tied in last year's matchup, while IU Indy earned victories in 2022 (4-2) and 2023 (2-1).
