INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indy men's soccer team (5-7-3, 2-4-1 HL) will host their final regular season home game on Friday (Oct. 31) at 2:00 p.m. inside Michael A. Carroll Stadium, as they face off against league leader Cleveland State. Tickets will be available at the door or online, and the match will be live-streamed on ESPN+.

Last Saturday, the Jags honored their seniors before the home match again Detroit Mercy and the squad responded with a 2-1 victory. Just before halftime, in the 39th minute, Detroit Mercy connected with the back of the net on a penalty kick from Drew Pierson but as the half was winding down, sophomore Stan Klaver found the back of the net in the 44th minute off an assist from junior Noah Kummrow. Late in the match, junior Jose Antonio Herrera was awarded a penalty kick in the 84th minute and converted to help secure the victory for the Jaguars.

Senior goalkeeper Cameron Maung-Maung was in the net for the Jags and registered three saves. IU Indy held the advantage in shots, 15-11, while Detroit Mercy had the edge in corner kicks, 9-3.

Through 15 games, Klaver leads the Jaguars in points (8) and goals (4), ranking eighth in the Horizon League in goals scored. Right behind him is senior Youri Keijser with seven points (two goals, three assists). Sophomore Bali Esquivel is tied for the team lead in assists (3) with Isom. In Horizon League statistics, Herrera ranks sixth in total shots (35) and fourth in shots on goal. Klaver and Isom also find themselves among the league leaders.

Four Jaguars have logged over 1,100 minutes of play this season, paced by Herrera (1,276), Brady Horn (1,275) and Esquivel (1,204). Maung-Maung has logged more than 1,100 minutes in net for the Jaguars.

QUOTABLE
"We knew we were with our backs against the wall. Results haven't gone our way in the past four, five, if not six games, so we knew we were in a bit of a pickle. I'm relieved that we got the dub. It keeps us alive and keeps things in our own control, so that's good. I think the soccer we played in the first half was probably some of the nicest we've played all year. The chances we created were 100 percent goal chances, and then it just got typical Horizon League — it got chippy, it got ugly, and the guys stepped up. I'm really happy we got the win," head coach Sid Van Druenen said.

SCOUTING CLEVELAND STATE
The Vikings of Cleveland State (6-2-6, 4-0-3 HL) currently sit in first place in the Horizon League. Peleg Armendariz leads the team in both points (11) and goals (5). Within the conference, Armendariz ranks third in shots (37), fifth in shots on goal (14), and fourth in goals. Behind him, Matteo Corriea has nine points on three goals and three assists. Uzman Ramees ranks third on the team, leading the Vikings in assists (4) while adding two goals. Goalkeeper Ryan Poling has anchored the defense, recording 43 saves and a .782 save percentage. Uros Jevtic leads Cleveland State in minutes played with 1,260.
