IU Indy Jaguars will host Detroit Mercy Titans Saturday (Oct.25)

IU Indy (4-7-3) set to host Detroit Mercy (5-7-2)

INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indy men's soccer team (4-7-3, 1-4-1 HL) will host Detroit Mercy on Saturday (Oct. 25) at 5:00 PM inside Michael A. Carroll Stadium. Tickets will be available at the door or online and the match will be live-streamed on ESPN+. 

Saturday's match will be Senior Day with this year's group and their families being recognized on the field approximately 45 minutes prior to kickoff. 

Last weekend, the Jags fell short against Northern Kentucky in a 2-0 loss. It was dead even in the shooting categories at 8-8 while the Jags had the advantage in shots on goal 5-2. Each team had four corner kicks in the contest. Heading into the half, the Jags' defense looked great, only allowing four shots and no goals. But in the second half, the Norse were able to find the back of the net 10 minutes in and sealed the game with a goal at the 70-minute mark.

Through 14 games, senior midfielder Youri Keijser leads IU Indy in points (7) and is tied for the most assists with sophomore midfielder Bali Esquivel with each having registered three. Right behind Keijser is sophomore back Stan Klaver with a team-high three goals and six points. In net, senior Cameron Maung-Maung has registered 36 saves and has a save percentage of .706. In the field, junior Jose Antonio Herrera has played a team-high 1,186 minutes and senior back Brady Horn is next at 1,185 minutes.

Herrera ranks sixth in the Horizon League in shots (30) and is fourth in the league in shots on goal (14). 

SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY 
The Titans are 5-7-2 overall and 2-3-1 in Horizon League games. The Titans are 0-2-1 in their last three games, including a 2-0 loss to league leader Cleveland State. The Titans opened the season with a tough slate of games, going against ranked opponents in No. 12 Dayton in a 0-0 draw and losing at No. 17 Kentucky, 4-0.

Through 14 games, junior Drew Pierson leads the Titans in goals (4) and points (10). He ranks sixth in the Horizon League in goals and eighth in total points. Two Titans are tied for second in points: senior Guershom Sylvain and redshirt junior Clayton Lafayette each have six points with two goals and two assists. Sophomore Colin Monroe has been in the net for the majority of the season and has registered 36 saves and a save percentage of .766.

INSIDE THE SERIES 
IU Indy is 5-9-5 all-time against Detroit Mercy, but are unbeaten in the past four meetings at 2-0-2. In last year's matchup, the result ended up in a 1-0 victory with a goal by senior Ethan Vermillion.
