INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis women's track and field team had five individuals record new personal bests as the Jaguars wrapped up competition at the two-day Crossroads of America Invitational at Fall Creek Pavilion at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The mid-distance and distance runners took center stage on day two of the meet for the Jaguars.
To start the day,
Grace Bragg paced the team's two entries in the mile with a personal best time of 5:17.04, taking six seconds off her prior best. Freshman
Ella Colclesser also put down a new personal best time of 5:21.31.
In the 400m event, freshman
Jahzara McAlister had a personal best time of 1:01.35 to lead the Jaguars while fellow freshman
Julianna Crow had a personal best time of 1:02.12. Sophomore
Journey Howard ran 1:04.98 and
Jada-Marie Davis finished at 1:05.81.
Veteran
Hannah Robbins was the team's lone entrant in the 5,000m event and clocked a personal best time of 18:13.41.
The Jaguars ended the day with two entries in the 4x400 relay as the group of
Modupe Awosanya, McAlister,
Wini Barnett and
Reese McCuan combined on a time of 3:59.92. The group of Howard, Bragg,
Aubrey Nowaskie and
Pa'Shence Purnell notched a time of 4:11.13.
The Jaguars will split efforts between Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational and the Midwest Classic at Fall Creek Pavilion next weekend.
