INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis men's and women's cross country teams swept the initial #HLXC Freshman of the Week awards to start the year as
Ella Colclesser and
Noah Price were honored on Wednesday (Sept. 4).
Colclesser, a true freshman, was the team's No. 3 runner at the Winrow-Valparaiso Open on Aug. 30, clocking a 5,000m time of 19:33.3. Colclesser placed 40th of 73 runners overall, competing against a field that included competitors from Notre Dame, Butler and Purdue, among others.
Price, a redshirt freshman, was the team's top finisher at the Queen City Invitational, placing fifth overall among the 52-runner field. Price, making his collegiate cross country debut, finished the 5,000m race in a time of 15:46.9.
The program is scheduled to host the Jaguars Invitational in Shelbyville, Ind., on Sept. 20.
