INDIANAPOLIS - IU Indianapolis redshirt freshman Luke Shappell has been named the #HLXC Men's Freshman of the Week for his efforts at last Friday's Jaguars Invitational. Shappell, running just his second-ever 8,000m race, finished fourth overall in a time of 25:49.90. 

With Shappell at the top of the lineup, the Jaguars finished second overall to Dayton with 62 points. 

He becomes the second Jaguar to earn Freshman of the Week honors this season, joining Noah Price. The Jaguars have maintained the No. 8 spot in the Men's Great Lakes Region polls.
