HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The IU Indianapolis men's cross country team will open the 2024 campaign when selected members of the Jaguars' team compete at the 41st annual Queen City Invitational, hosted by Northern Kentucky. The men's 5,000m race will begin at 6:15 p.m., following the women's 5K.
Head coach
Justin Roeder's team enters the year with high expectations, despite a roster that has just six individuals who have run collegiate cross country entering the season. Veteran
Nate Kaiser leads the group that also includes
Mitchell Gits,
Matt Mitsch and
Grant Moon. Kaiser owns the program's 10K record (30:28.2) and is No. 2 on the program's all-time list in the 8K (24:06.5) while Moon ranks No. 3 in the 8K (24:07.1).
Kaiser owns four of the program's 15 quickest 8K efforts of all-time and Moon holds two of the top-10 10K performances in program history.
The Jaguars bring back six redshirt freshmen from last season and welcomed a star studded recruiting class of 13 true freshmen.
A full recap and results of Friday's action will be posted to IUIndyJags.com immediately afterwards.
