CARMEL, Ind. – After a final 18 holes on Sunday (Apr. 14), the IUPUI women's golf team remained in fourth place at the Lady Jaguar Invitational held at Plum Creek. Windy conditions caused higher scores for all players and the team finished with a 313 after shooting 303 in round one. Senior Annaliese Fox clinched her second career victory after carding a 2-over 74—matching the low round of day two. Sydni Zebrauskas ranked first among individual entries by three strokes after rounds of 78 and 74 (8-over) to record her first career top 10 placement.

The Jaguars began their final round on the back nine, where Fox and Yanah Rolston each bogeyed the opening hole. Rolston would go onto bogey her second hole—the par 3 eleventh—before quickly bouncing back with a birdie at the next. On the other hand, Shelby Busker, Nerea Lancho and Madeline Pape were steady from the start. Busker began with five straight pars, Lancho was 1-under through her first five, while Pape rattled off six straight pars to begin her round.

All five players dropped shots at the par-3 sixteenth that caused problems for the entire field. The bogey was the only set back for Pape while Fox also finished with a 1-over 37 on the back after recording back-to-back birdies on 17 and 18, which propelled the Fountaintown native into the lead.

As the wind picked up later in the day so too did the scores. However, birdies on holes one and two by Fox put the Jags in the lead and extended her advantage on the individual leaderboard. Fox, along with her teammates, battled the difficult conditions on the way into the clubhouse, going a combined 18-over through the final six holes to drop to fourth place.

Despite bogeying the penultimate hole, Fox registered an impressive par the last to hold onto a tie for first with Ball State's Sabrina Langerak, who still was to play the eighteenth. Langerak would go onto bogey the last to secure the victory for Fox.

"It feels really good (to get the win), especially with it being my last year," expressed Fox after the round. "I was struggling but then I had those four birdies in a row which made my momentum come back and made me feel like I would be able to go out and win."

Busker, who shot a 6-over 42 on her final nine, did enough on Saturday to claim a second top 10 placement of the season and tenth of her career.

Zebrauskas followed up her impressive 78 on day one with an outstanding 74 on Sunday that tied the low round of the day. The freshman matched Fox with four birdies which was the most among the field in the final round. The round propelled Zebrauskas into a top 10 finish—the first of her young career.

The team will now prepare for the Horizon League Championships in Howey-in-the-hills, Florida. Play begins Saturday (Apr. 20) where teams will play 18 holes three consecutive days before crowning a champion on Monday (Apr. 22).
