BATAVIA, Ohio - The IUPUI women's golf team earned a runner-up finish at this week's The Julie, hosted by Northern Kentucky at Elks Run Golf Course. The Jaguars carded a final round 304 on Tuesday (Mar. 26) to finish one shot off the lead. Senior
Annaliese Fox finished tied for third among the 82-player field at 149 (76-73) and sophomore
Yanah Rolston tied for fifth at 150 (75-75).
The Jaguars flirted with the lead for much of the final round but succumbed late to close at 607 (303-304).
"It was well fought," assistant coach
Kara Blair said. "Great efforts from all our ladies."
Fox paced the Jaguars with a final round 73, making four birdies on her final nine holes as she played her back nine to 33. Rolston made three straight birdies on the front nine as part of her final round 75 on Tuesday. Seniors
Shelby Busker and
Madeleine Pape finished tied for 17th overall at 154 for the week as Busker carded a final round 77. Pape was countable with a final round 79 and junior
Nerea Lancho posted a final round 80.
Freshman
Nina Wojtczak shot 76 on Tuesday as an individual and placed 25th for the week at 156 (80-76). Sophomore
Reagan Sohn rounded out the individual entries at 163 (81-82).
It marked Fox's tenth career top-10 finish while Rolston collected the second of her career. Purdue Fort Wayne won the team title at 606 (306-300) and Cleveland State's Kaitlin Kormuth collected medalist honors at 1-over 145 (73-72).
The Jaguars will return to action on Apr. 1-2 when they compete in the EKU Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky.
