MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – The IUPUI women's basketball team shot just 29.8 percent as they fell on the road at Milwaukee on Thursday night, 73-54.
Jazmyn Turner (20 points, five rebounds) and
Katie Davidson (13 points, seven rebounds) led the Jags in the road loss.
Milwaukee (14-11, 8-6 HL) held the lead the whole game with Grace Crowley, Anna Lutz, Kamy Peppler and Jada Donaldson all totaling double-digit points. The Panthers recorded a 53.7 shooting percentage from the field with a 58.3 percent (7-for-12) from three.
IUPUI (5-17, 3-10 HL) struggled to score, with their first points not dropping until Turner sunk two free throws at the 5:21 minute mark in the first quarter. The Jags' rebounding kept them within seven points with IUPUI totaling 11 and the Panthers taking nine after the first quarter.
The Jags followed the first quarter with just a 25 percent (4-for-16) shooting mark in the second quarter. The Panthers took advantage of that extending the lead to 11 points at 32-21.
Coming out after halftime, IUPUI had their best quarter, shooting 40 percent (6-for-15) for 17 points. It wasn't enough to cut the lead as Milwaukee continued to outshoot the Jags with 19 points in the third quarter.
The cold shooting continued in the fourth quarter as the Jags went over five minutes without a bucket. While the Jags made just three baskets in the final quarter, they tallied 10-for-11 free throws. The Panthers closed out the game with five threes in just the fourth quarter, sealing the game at 73-54.
Turner led the Jaguars with 20 points, 11 of those coming in the fourth quarter, with five rebounds. Davidson also totaled double digits with 13 points and seven rebounds. Freshman

The Jaguars will now continue their road trip when they head to Green Bay for a 2:00 PM tip-off on Saturday, February 10.
