Paige Laffoon topped her own school record in the pentathlon while junior
Morgan Hoard bettered her own school record in the shotput during the competition.
Laffoon placed second to UIndy's Ellie Lengerich in the pentathlon with a score of 3,413 points, clearing her prior best by 249 points.
"Coming into the meet today, I set some personal expectations that kept me focused throughout the meet," Laffoon said. "Having my teammates encouraging me throughout the meet also pushed me to meet these expectations.
"It was so exciting to watch Morgan break the shotput record. I'm ready to compete this Friday in Bloomington!"
Laffoon opened as the top finisher in the 60m hurdles with a personal best time of 9.31 seconds while Hoard finished at 9.56 seconds. Laffoon was second among the six competitors in the high jump with a best mark of 1.58m (5' 2.25'') and Hoard has a best jump of 1.43m (4' 8.25'').
In the shotput, Hoard broke her own school record with a best throw of 10.80m (35' 5.25''), topping her prior best by nearly a foot. Laffoon had a personal best throw of 10.64m (34' 11'').
Laffoon set a new personal best mark in the long jump with a best jump of 5.54m (18' 2.25''), topping the six person field. Hoard's best mark was a 4.76m (15' 7.5'') effort.
Laffoon capped the evening by running the 800m in a time of 2:40.11 while Hoard finished at 3:02.71.
The Jaguars will compete next Friday (Dec. 13) at IU's Early Bird Meet in Bloomington.
