INDIANAPOLIS - IU Indianapolis women's track and field sophomore
Paige Laffoon has been named Horizon League Women's Field Athlete of the Week after a strong performance at the season opening Scott Fangman Invitational at UIndy on Friday (Dec. 6). Laffoon broke the school record in the pentathlon with 3,436 points, topping the previous mark by nearly 250 points and tops the Horizon League in the pentathlon. In addition, she's tied for No. 25 nationally in the pentathlon after the opening week of the indoor season.Â
As part of her performance, she set new personal bests in the 60m hurdles (9.31), shotput (10.64; 34' 11') and long jump (5.54m; 18' 2.25'').
She ranks No. 4 in the Horizon League in high jump (1.58m; 5' 2.25'') and No. 5 in long jump.Â
