INDIANAPOLIS - IU Indianapolis redshirt freshman
Luke Shappell has been named Horizon League Men's Freshman of the Week for the third time this season for his efforts at the recent Bradley 'Pink' Classic.
Shappell was the team's No. 3 finisher at Bradley, placing 67th overall of 265 total runners on Friday (Oct. 18). His time of 24:44.11 was a new personal best, shedding 28 seconds off his previous best 8K time. In doing so, he helped the Jaguars to a tenth-place finish, including defeating major conference opponents in DePaul, Xavier, Kansas State, Missouri and Marquette.
Following the effort, the Jaguars moved back into the USTFCCCA Great Lakes Region polls in the No. 15 spot this week.
