INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's track and field team tacked on three more personal bests as the Jaguars closed out its home invitational inside Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion on Saturday (Jan. 27). In addition, the Jaguars closed out the meet with a season-best effort in the 4x400 relay to punctuate a fast weekend.
In the jumps, freshman
Journey Howard topped IUPUI's three entries with a personal best high jump of 1.61m (5' 3.25'') while
Paige Laffoon jumped 1.57m (5' 1.75'').
Reese McCuan topped the triple jumpers with a best effort of 11.33m (37' 2.25'').
Hannah Robbins turned in a personal best 3K time of 10:51.31, finishing just ahead of
Hannah Sale's time of 10:55.83. Later,
Karis Davis paced the Jaguars' four entries in the 400m event with a time of 1:00.46.
Freshman
Paige Schulte ran a personal best time of 1:00.90 in winning her heat and
Laci Spore followed with a heat win in a time of 1:02.59.
In the 800m event,
Wini Barnett was the team's lone entrant with a time of 2:30.68.
The Jaguars closed out the meet with a season-best 4x400 relay time of 4:01.04 as Howard, McCuan, Barnett and
Modupe Awosanya placed sixth overall. The 'B' entry of Schulte, Spore,
Jada-Marie Davis and
Karis Davis crossed at 4:07.14, placing ninth.
