INDIANAPOLIS – Head coach
Pawel Gajdzik and IUPUI athletics added former Jaguar
Meghan Bernard to the women's tennis staff. Bernard begins her collegiate coaching career as an assistant coach for the Jags after playing six years of division one tennis.
"I'm extremely excited and grateful for the opportunity to become the IUPUI assistant coach," said Bernard. "After being a part of the Jaguar tennis program for 5 years, I could not be more excited to continue working with the IUPUI staff. I just want to thank the IUPUI athletic department for this incredible opportunity. Go Jags!"
Bernard was a five-year member of the IUPUI tennis program where she posted a team-high 15 singles points during her graduate year. She also earned 17 doubles wins at the No. 1 spot, earning Horizon League Doubles Team of the Week on February 22. During her last year with the Jags, she was named the team's Coaches Award at the 2023 Jag Awards, Horizon League All-League Second Team and Horizon League Academic All-League.
During her college career, Bernard has also helped instruct others as a tennis professional at the West Indy Racquet Club. She also served as an instructor at a Nike Tennis Camp this past year.
"I am excited to have Meghan join our coaching staff as assistant coach," said head coach Gajdzik. "Her passion for IUPUI, energy, work ethic and commitment to excellence both in the classroom and on the tennis court will play an important role in continuing to lay the foundation and building a culture of success for the IUPUI Women's Tennis program."
