INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's cross country team has announced its 2023 schedule, highlighted by seven total meets and a home meet in Shelbyville, Ind., early in the season. Head coach
Justin Roeder's team is coming off a Horizon League runner-up finish in 2022.
The Jaguars will open the season with a conference preview at the Mike Baumer XC Classic on Sept. 1 in Fairborn, Ohio, site of the 2023 #HLXC Championships. The Jags will then host a home meet at Blue River Cross Country Course on Sept. 15 before closing the month at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational on Sept. 29. IUPUI will cap the regular season with entries at the Bradley 'Pink' Classic (Oct. 13) and Butler Stan Lyons Invitational (Oct. 20).
Roeder's squad will run the Horizon League Championships on Oct. 28 and the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wisc., on Nov. 10.
The Jaguars return the all-league trio of
Grant Moon,
Eric Petersen and
Nick Perkins from last year's squad, along with
Mitchell Gits, who just missed an all-league finish last season. In addition, distance ace
Nate Kaiser returns after redshirting the cross country season and the Jaguars added Purdue Fort Wayne-transfer Andrew Whitinger as a graduate transfer after he earned second team All-Horizon League honors last season.
