INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's tennis team currently sits one spot back from making the Horizon League tournament with back-to-back league matches this weekend. The Jags will play for their spot in the tournament when they host Cleveland State on Saturday and Youngstown State on Sunday. Both matches are scheduled for an 11:00 AM first serve.
The Jags are 8-12 overall and 0-2 in conference heading into the weekend.
Meghan Bernard and
Sarah Lounsbury each enter the weekend with ten singles wins while
Samantha Hayward has a total of eight this season. Doubles have been a constant for the Jags this season with Lounsbury and
Makenzie Myers holding an 8-1 record and Bernard and Hayward earning 11 doubles wins.
Cleveland State comes to Indy with an 11-7 overall record and 2-1 Horizon League record with wins over Chicago State and Milwaukee. Youngstown State enters the weekend 6-8 overall and 3-0 in conference with wins over Milwaukee, Chicago State and Cleveland State.
Saturday's match against Cleveland State and Sunday's match against Youngstown State will both begin at 11:00 AM at the IUPUI campus courts weather permitting.
